Here's an easy and "Must Make!" recipe if you are going on a long trip or hike! This sweet and salty snack will keep you full and give you energy as well as being totally delicious and satisfying! So here goes! My trail mix recipe that's just like the Costco mix!
Trail Mix Recipe Cooking Time: 20 Minutes (Approx)
Serves 4-6 People
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup (130g) Raw Almonds
1 Cup (140g) Raw Cashews
2 1/2 Cups (400g) Roasted, Salted Peanuts
1 Cup (160g) Raisins
1 1/2 Cups (300g) Sugar-Coated Chocolates like M&Ms, Smarties, Minstrels
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 160ºC.
Place 1 Cup Raw Almonds and 1 Cup Raw Cashews into a baking tray. When the oven is preheated, roast the nuts for 15-20 minutes, until they are golden. Then remove from the oven and leave them to cool completely.
In a large bowl, mix 2 1/2 Cups Roasted, Salted Peanuts, 1 Cup Raisins and 1 1/2 Cups of your favourite sugar-coated coated chocolate. We use sugar-coated chocolates only as they don't melt in your hands as quickly as pure chocolate does.
When the roasted cashews and almonds have cooled completely, add them to the bowl and mix the ingredients together.
Place in a ziplock bag ready for your travels! ENJOY!!
