Here's a quick video on how to make Ginger-Garlic-Chili paste at home. This is a basic ingredient in many Indian curries on my site, so it's a good idea to keep it on hand. I like to make a large batch and freeze it in small bottle or containers for future use.
This will last 3-4 months in the fridge or longer in the freezer.
Ginger-Garlic Chili Paste Recipe Prep Time: 20 Minutes (Approx)
Makes 1/2 Jam Jar Size Bottle
Lasts 3-4 Months - in Fridge or
Longer in Freezer
INGREDIENTS
44g Garlic, Peeled (about 1 head of garlic)
44g Ginger, Peeled
14g Green Chillis
1/8 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Oil
METHOD
Peel the Garlic and Ginger and cut the Ginger into small pieces.
Cut the chilies into small pieces.
Place the cut Ginger, Garlic and Chilies into a colander and rinse them under cold water. Let them drain.
Grind them in a chopper until they're finely chopped.
Remove to a bowl and add the Turmeric and Oil and mix well. These help to keep the Ginger-Garlic-Chili Paste fresh longer and preserve it.
Place the Ginger-Garlic-Chili Paste to a clean jar and store in the fridge.
For longer storage, keep it in the freezer in a bottle or plastic container. As these are strong smelling spices, keep it away from any dairy products as they may absorb the flavour.
ENJOY!!
